My Experience as a Media Scholar
Throughout my experience in the Media Scholars program, I have made new friends and connections, been on very insightful field trips, learned a lot from various guest speakers, and have had my interest in media peak in the past 2 years.

About Me |
Brief Statement
I am a Sophomore at the University of Maryland. I am originally from Gambrills, Maryland. While in high school I didn't have much knowledge about the media but since I have gone to college I have learned so much. I have been more conscious about the media I consume, I understand how the media works and the importance of it, and I have also learned how the media is used in order to inform our society.
As a student who has grown up in such a media driven society I have learned many things in this class that have benefitted me positively in my life. Taking these courses has allowed me to dig deeper into the current events and has given me a greater awareness that I did not have before. As a College Park Media Scholar I have been introduced to many different opportunities and learned a lot more about the media. Being in this program has even inspired me to apply for an internship dealing with media and diversity within media. The skills I have obtained from being in these classes will impact how I work in the future throughout the rest of my college career and after college. I am excited to see what the future holds for me in relation to a possible career in media. (11/15/2020) |
